Keerthanas

Keerthanas are sacred musical forms containing Bhakthi rasa. Saint Thyagaraja himself praised Ramadasa in Prahlada Bhakti Vijayam, placing him amongst great saints like Narada, Parasara, Thumburu and Prahlada.

Ramadasu always praised Lord Rama in his Keerthanas. His Keerthanas were mostly in Telugu and Sanskrit. He also used Urdu and Tamil words sparingly in these Keerthanas.

One of the greatest Rama Bhaktas of modern times, The Maestro Sri Nedunuri Krishnamurthy garu, as a Ramadasa dasa, has taken up the task of composing tunes of 108 Ramadasu keertanas and completed it with great commitment pouring his life’s music into it despite his failing health. We are all fortunate to have inherited such great wealth from this great soul. The trust has taken up the responsibility of preserving these treasured Keerthanas and spreading them among the musical fraternity.

This website contains some of the audio files taught by Nedunuri garu himself to Malladi Brothers and other disciples which was brought as Pahi Rama Prabho TV series on Bhakti TV.

The lofty spiritual , lyrical and musical content in Ramadasu Keerthanas shows us the bhakthi marga and stands as an inspiration to several composers in the past, present and future.
